Long Bullshit Medium

The person reading this prefers to have a few close relationships than many friends. You often tell people that you are fine when you really aren't. You are humble and an independant thinker. I simply used a very common technique known as cold reading to give you vague statements that apply to anyone.

But why is cold reading so effective?

This just means that if you believe something, your mind will find every bit of evidence to prove it and will subsequently ignore any piece of evidence that disproves it. So when you watch a medium giving readings you focus on all of their hits and ignore their misses. This allows psychics to easily lie to you and have you believe it.

Emotion:

What makes the psychic business so unethical is that it plays on people's emotions. Psychics are normally visited by people who are so desperate to talk to loved ones that have passed or to find a missing family member or that are at a difficult point in their lives. They see no other option but to turn to the supernatural. These people are extremely emotional and therefore they are willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money to speak to these mediums.

Psychics, like Sylvia Browne, take advantage of these emotional people to make money!

This can actually completely derail investigations as seen in this video.

So if you want to be a psychic, you don't need any kind of special powers. All you need is no morals or ethics so that you can sleep at night knowing that you lie for a living.

Don't believe everything you hear just because it's convenient.
