Some Good News.

Right now there is a constant stream of bad news on our social media feeds. From the new abortion act to the crisis in Sudan to new species becoming extinct. It makes our generation extremely pessimistic about life and the world and so as time goes on we start sounding more and more like Rick and Morty clones. There is so much good news though, but because there is so much bad we tend to overlook it. For this post, let's appreciate the good.

4ocean is an organisation that sells bracelets made from recycled plastic and uses the money to pay over 150 people to clean our oceans! ( https://4ocean.com/ )

Let's talk about Mr Beast. He is a viral YouTuber/Vlogger that uses his income to donate money, groceries and even A HOUSE to homeless people. He also donates to Twitch streamers and just gives to random people in general.

< Here he buys EVERYTHING in a grocery store and donates all of it to a homeless shelter.

A clear example of using his money and fame for good.

Georgia may have banned abortions after 6 weeks, but other places in America like New York have expanded access to abortions this year, directly contradicting Alabama's new law.

Social media has become blue to honour those who have died in the ongoing Sudan massacre. The blue profile pictures seem irrelevant but they serve to give hope to Sudanese people and with more spread of the news and subsequent wide news coverage, social media is giving a voice to the victims as they are being silenced.

Endangered animals like the Bermuda land snail, Indian Rhinos, grizzly bears, manatees, orangutans and sea turtles are making a comeback and thriving in nature!

Circus Roncalli, a German circus, became cruelty free by making use of holograms instead of live animals! Circus animals are usually kept in cages under inhumane conditions, underfed, deprived of their natural environments, and trained using extreme “discipline” with whips and electrical prods. Hopefully the trend catches on to prevent animal cruelty in circuses. (source)

By sharing news, you are raising awareness to current issues the world is facing. By bringing more attention to these issues you are allowing more people to care and for more change. The impact of reposting something or changing your display pictures are often seen as irrelevant. Know that it isn't. Your concern allows for good news so revel in the good stuff more often.

As long as you care and have a voice, the world will be alright.
