These days, this is the face of Feminism...
- whipped men and loud women complaining about Robin Thicke and man-spreading that apparently oppresses us.
Feminists have turned Feminism into a shit show - not to be taken seriously.
This is particularly upsetting because Feminism could return back to the empowering and impactful movement that it once was. There is so much more that Feminism should focus on to really promote EQUALITY of the genders in all countries and save girls and women from the effects of gender inequality all across the globe.
FGM:
female genital mutilation
noun plural noun: female genital mutilations the practice, traditional in some cultures, of partially or totally removing the external genitalia of girls and young women for non-medical reasons. It is illegal in many countries.
Female Genital Mutilation is sexual abuse and child abuse. It has 0 medical benefits and can actually cause cysts, infections, bleeding, increased childbirth complications, psychological issues and, in some cases, death. According to the World Health Organisation, 200 million girls alive today have been victims of FGM.

Why is it done?
There is no religious reason for FGM. It is mainly done due to social pressures or due to the notion that it prepares girls for adulthood or makes women 'clean' for their husbands as it strips away their sexual desire and makes sex painful and undesirable.
So to answer that question - there is no valid, logical reason.
How can Feminists help?
1. Policy changes.
2. Enforcing consequences through law.
3. Educate communities about the effects of FGM.
4. Promote the ending of FGM to bring more attention to the issue.
5. Give survivors a voice.

The fact that this has happened to so many women worldwide and barely anyone is trying to make a stand against it is disappointing. What has the world come to?!
The way you described feminists today and back then and the contrast as well as the helping ideas on how to act and move forward I think this is a well put blog and view on true feminism and not the fake brand of people falsely leading others into a false mid set and view on it
